Students abducted by aliens on Edinburgh’s beach?

Students celebrating GESE exam results (8 distictions and 5 Merits) on Edinburgh’s fantastic sandy beaches were mysteriously sucked into a low flying UFO last Friday afternoon. These pictures of the amazing event were captured by a passing tourist and published in the Edinburgh evening news. The Italian students suffered a terrifying and distressing 30 minutes on board the strange otherworldly craft, where, they were forced to watch Robeto Baggio’s 1994 world cup final penalty miss over and over again. But the story had a happy ending when they were dropped off the craft right on top of Edinburgh’s iconic Arthur’s seat. Students recovered from their ordeal with breathtaking views of the city, consoled by the fact that the aliens had saved them a long walk up to the top of the rock! But perhaps you will be much more suprised by the fact a city can also have such a fantastic beach than the extraterrestrial happenings. And just 20 minutes from the central shopping area. I don’t think Manchester, Leeds, London, Birmingham, Oxford or Cambridge can boast a beach….

4. What technological innovations were there in advertisement 3?

5. Advertisement 4. What do you think is the job of a robotics inventor?

6. Can you do the handshake in advertisement 4?

Botanic Gardens Mystery!!

Viviana took her ELA group to the botanic gardens this week. A beautiful natural experience but unfortunately Viviana, who has been reading John Wyndams Sci Fi classic The Day of The Triffids, could not find any of the man eating plants despite an extended search.  I did try to tell her that Triffids don’t exist and that they were made up by the author but she wouldn’t believe me. However, only the students came home that day…..so maybe they do exist! Ahh!!

Enjoying Edinburgh

We love the capital city of Scotland for its beauty, unique atmosphere, fantastic architecture and great history.

We organise weekly excursions around Edinburgh and introduce it to our students coming to ELA from all over the world.

There is nothing more rewarding than showing them all the sights of our city, helping them to immerse themselves into its atmosphere and observing their enthusiasm when they learn about Edinburgh and Scotland.
