Floors Castle is the ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe. It is in the Scottish Borders near Kelso.
Floors Castle was originally built for the 1st Duke of Roxburghe, in 1721.
It was invaded yesterday by Edinburgh Language Academy on one of their weekend excursion days.
The gardens were incredible and really well managed.
The architecture was wonderful and the autumn colours made the place take on a magical air. The guides in all of the rooms are really friendly and nice and spoke slowly for us so we could understand their English.
Here we are stood under an oak tree that was planted by Queen Victoria when she visited the house.
The Castle grounds were incredible large and well maintained.
We wondered what it would be like to grow up as children in such a strange place, with lots of spooky paintings, stuffed animals and statues.
Our Teacher trying to work a camera.
We spent a lovely half an hour in the autumn sun drinking coffee.
It was like being in a painting. the colours were absolutely glorious.
